The Future of Music was founded in 2022 by Oak Forest resident and professional musician Drake Eckhart. After years of performing and teaching — with a degree in music and a background in educational psychology — Drake set out to reshape how music is taught. What began as a handful of lessons in his living room quickly grew into a thriving local school with over 250 students.
At The Future of Music, we believe every student learns differently. That’s why we focus on personalized lessons, joyful learning, and a strong foundation in child development. Our passionate instructors bring music to life through private lessons, recitals, and group performances, helping students of all ages — from toddlers to adults — reach their full potential.
In 2025, The Future of Music expanded with a second location in Briargrove, continuing our mission to make music education exciting, accessible, and rooted in personal growth.
